Summer Fast One MTB event. A lekker ride from home, and back. Stunning view of GP, which I noticed many riders simply ignored once they summited the the koppie.

The climb up was a nice one, probably made easier because of some walkers.

I acknowledge that vertical distance. Mooi, man. 😈

Thanks.

there is something about this place, there are places where it looks like you should have a flat or gradual downhill but your speed and effort does not correlate, then you check garmin and it says your on like a 3 or 5% gradient. Messes with your head man.

Also known as 'false flats' 😑 An optical illusion

The best coffee rides are the ones where you’re just riding to ride

Yebo Yes! I had one of those yesterday too. I didn't have a route, or a plan, or a target interval or heart rate or speed or or or.... I was just out, riding my bike, because riding a bike is fun.

If you sit back and consider it (or try to explain it to an alien), the fact that there are so many people taking cycling so seriously, training their balls off, never taking a photo/piss/beer break, just to be maybe, slightly better than average, seems a little strange.

You don't see people at the driving range at 04:30 in the morning, religiously moering 100 balls before work every morning and a 500 on the weekend, only to try to come mid pack at a regional paid-for tournament.

If they don’t train they will be less than average.
