Some pics from bikepacking in Rwanda in Feb whilst doing the Race Around Rwanda. This is an amazing place to ride a bike. Completely safe and cheaper than doing a stage race in South Africa (flights, accom, food all taken into account.)

I put my downstairs trainer in the driveway every two days. At least it feels like outdoors for the warm up to my gym session.

We are now doing a Zwift coffee ride once a week with the group. You do 24 kms round London with a stop at 12 kms to go and get a cup of coffee. You need to send a photo in to the Whatsapp group of you and your coffee.

Its actually quite a lot of fun.

I will NEVER miss an opportunity to ride outside again. I have vowed i will, from release from lockdown, ride through the whole of winter.

Did a "coffee ride" on monday aswell, 1hour spin, took a break for coffee and cookies and then another hour spin "back".

Not on Zwift though, hoping to get a bluetooth sensor soon to join the virtual world on my dumb trainer.

Took the "dog for a walk"... this one was in memory of Chino (2009 - 2020).

Wait... I was also watching the 2018 PR. My ride was 43Km, and I had 36Km to go when I started taking screen shots. So he rode 54Km in the time I rode 32Km (I still had 4 to go when he cross the line).

Did he really attack, or just ride away from the rest?

The moment he was about the bridge the gap.

A "quickie" to clear my mind in-between all the videoconferencing!

Looks like quite a few chainrings has carved into that tree on the crossing marks there?

Indeed, a couple of broken egos also lying around the tree! :)

After a device test on Thursday night (3Km), today was my first Zwift ride with a few mates, and also my first IDT ride over the 2 hour barrier.

Still doesn’t beat the outdoors, but it’s better than not being able to ride.

This morning's solidarity ride, dedicated to all my mates back home in SA that can't currently enjoy the splendid beauty of mother nature.
