Well it didn't fall apart ????

'It looks fast' ... hoping that was a compliment from a track rider and not a slight on the rider's ability to ride ????

To my understanding they don't allow road bikes and track bikes on at the same time ... there are good reasons for that. I am not aware of any 'recreational' sessions that happen with road bikes anymore but I'm told it was possible in the past.

I have no intention of racing track or even trying to 'emulate' some kind of track discipline, just go there for a bit of fun and it is easy to do interval training in a nice safe environment

yeah I'm not planning on doing any track specific disciplines, just thought it would be nice every now and then to have a safe environment to just ride with  no gradients, traffic or traffic lights to get in the way.  Going around in circles will probably get boring after a while, but it cant be worse than an IDT not linked to a "game"

We held the winter Crit series there in 2017, with lots of road bikes racing around the track. Was good fun.

Then a few members used to do paceline work too on a Sunday afternoon. As NSBB says, as long as there aren’t track riders it should be okay.

Eddie Roller would know more. I’m not sure of his BikeHub alias, but I’ll try find out.

Is that Hector Norris park? (may have changed name by now I suppose) If so, that really brings back memories. I used to ride my road bike from Bryanston to there, do a few laps and ride back. Would'nt try it nowadays though.

It certainly is and still carries the same name!
