Loving the new trails from TMTBC. Did the Fair Cape Loop connecting to Hoogekraal and back home. A good 70km ride with 1080m of climbing.

A great long weekend riding trails in and around Stellenbosch with mates, Banghoek, Bottlereay Hills and Jonkershoek.  The guys there really are spoilt for choice.

 

Some assembly reauired;

 

Got onto an awesome new trail in Banhoek cut high into the mountainside above Kylemore

 

Things got narrower, rougher and steeper until caught my handlebar on the cut sidewall, flipped the back of the trail and went 6m down the mountainside on my pip. Much to the amusement of some trail fairies in the valley below, took a while to clamber back up, extract large volumes of soil from my person and reclaim my dignity.  We were then told it was a new hiking trail, oh well. New helmet and pair of shorts required, signage suggested.

Bottleray Hills, hadn't done them for a few years and really enjoyed the single track portions of the red and green routes.

A quick amble round our suburb to make sure nothing falls off or moves that shouldn't move ... Where else would you see kids playing on gym equipment in a park, a bored looking housewife having a tattoo and then yes my friends that is the infamous 'Brackendowns snake in the wall house'
