Tumbles in spot of bother

Spinnekop

Recommended Posts

Husky Rescue will be brining Squamish round for home check and introduction next week, my aunt gave Barry the pups originally (Squamish and Alabama)

We have Bella, Squamish sister so he will be reunited

Our concern is that we have cats and nobody knows how Squamish reacts to them

Squamish is named after a little town near Whistler, Canada. Barry once wanted to tour slowly through Canada from the east coast to the west coast and end up in Whistler.

Sounds like a great ride

Latest link to Ian J's fb post from sunset today.

We met up with him & Ruby in Delta this evening to introduce her to my 3 lunatics on neutral turf. That girl has a one track mind....LOVE....it comes before anything. So while she appreciated the sniffs & wags from my crew, she was really more interested in meeting her new mom.

It was love at first sight with my mom (who is Ruby's new mom) bursting into tears as soon as she saw her.

Just as Tumbles had always wanted a St Bernard, so has my mom.

We traipsed around the park for a while as a herd, with Ruby randomly flopping onto her back for tickles along the way.

So she is now safe & sound, running around my garden with her cousins & my mom will drive her home to PE on Monday. (yes she drove up especially to fetch her)

Her first toy was ready & waiting for her at the house :)

What Wil6 said.

Ian in conjunction with Husky rescue are in the process of re-homing them.

Two of the dogs first had to be snipped but are now ready for new homes.

I personally fell in love with Scar (the Boxer) when I met him at the funeral, but I'm not in a position to adopt him just yet. If my situation changes in the next few weeks and he's still available though, I'll be signing up :)

Hi Nancy

How many of Barry's mutts are still at the Husky rescue crowd and are they still in need of funds for them?

Hi SwissVan,

there are still 4 mutts being taken care of, 2 of which have potential homes. My understanding is that home checks are underway.

Until all of them actually leave the shelter, they are costing R90 per dog per day for boarding only. HRSA are still feeding them at an additional cost. As at yesterday R1200 had been spent on food alone since the accident.

I have no idea how much has been contributed so far, but I think it's better to have some excess in the Barry Dog fund. At a rate of R360 a day now (sans food) until the others find homes, I think the funds will run out quickly.

Thank you to all of you generous people that are paying it forward and to all of those animal rescue people that give of their time so selflessly.

Unreservedly fitting video, following the same route Barry used to take after working at the bike shop to Grapes.

Wooooooow,

Been off here for a while, Just read the thread, started tearing up from page 1, Got to the part where "the machines will be turned off" and I couldn't anymore, My 18month old daughter in my arms started wiping my tears away... I didn't even know Tumbles personally but "knew" him from The Hub, always offered advice and always had a great sense of humour, RIP Tumbles, You will DEFINITELY be missed on The Hub.
