What a nice day on the trails !!

Perfect weather.

And just such a nice vibe between the riders.

Maritz and a young lady teamed up for the day ...  with the other dad and myself along for the ride ....  :whistling:   Lost count of how many times we did B-Spot.  D'Aria and the dam loop, and yet another B-Spot ....

Finished it off with a pizza and milkshake.

Maritz actually did more than 20km with all these loops added together !!   :w00t:

After a week of MTB Guiding, yesterday I got out on my own. Plugged in my music and smashed some hills.

This is from a little high point just off of Zona Zero Route 6 that not many people ride up too. I always do, just for the view.

You can see the nearly empty "embalse de Mediano" (Mediano Dam) way down in the background - it's been a long hot & dry summer.

Standing up here on my own, soaking up the sun and watching huge birds of prey soar silently overhead and I remember why we came here . . . . .

This place is amazing!

Clarence Drive Gordons Bay to Hanklip and back. It has been a good few years since I last cycled that - why, I really don't know, because it is just stupendously beautiful! All the way, in both directions. The road surface is so smooth, my bike was even more silent than usual, no road buzz, just the wind in my ears. I suppose it was my little reward for working this past weekend! I should go out that way more often!

It's an awesome ride when the wind behaves - have had days where have left a still Stellenbosch and arrived in Gordon's Bay and could barely open the car door for the wind.
