Took me to Grahamstown for the G2C bike race and a few shows at the festival. Including Suzanne Vega, remembered why I like her music.

Then the 60odd km today. Corrugated gravel roads are not my favourate riding surface.

Saturday morning we did Stairway and Burry at Meerendal.

WOW, what a way to see the sun rise !!!

Bottom dam again has an "island" .... even the upper dam has a bit of water in it.  Fields are GREEN

Weather was just brilliant, despite the crisp morning air ....

Sunday afternoon repeated the route with a few friends.  LOTS of riders on the trails.  Everybody greeting each other, making way for the couple of racing snakes - who all took the time to say thanks.

Nice, but why are so many folks in France right now? Quite a few of the folks I follow on Strava seem to ride there at the moment.

Meerendal on Sunday.

Hardly looks like we are in the grips of a 100 year record drought ....

Bottom dam has an island again.  Even the top dam has some water !

Special thanks to the backup drivers for keeping us safe on the roads, taking photos along the ride, supplying us with food to keep us going and the patience for driving so slow.

Was truly the best weekend I ever had on a bike!
