Climbed up Botmaskop for the first time yesterday, and then down Skyfall and into the Banhoek trail system. Man, it is gorgeous. The views from the top of Botmaskop are insane, nd the valley down in Banhoek is breathtaking.

Trails are pretty special too, there are some good challenging climbs and the descents are super fast and flowy - I was on my hardtail and smiling ear to ear the whole day. I will definitely do the ride again. Good change of pace from riding the enduro bike up for an hour followed by a 10min descent.

All in all about a 40km ride with about 10km of tar (back over to Stellenbosch via Helsholgte pass).

I can't believe I've never ridden that little burn past 365 and the lighthouse to Kommetjie before. 140 odd km and around 2600m of climbing for the weekend. Not a bad weekend of riding for a fat lazy old pig like me. post-83454-0-19145800-1560776891_thumb.jpgpost-83454-0-36298900-1560776911_thumb.jpgpost-83454-0-25820700-1560776927_thumb.jpg

Getting re-aquainted with all my bikes. Today was the Cannibals' turn! Up pukies hill to Rhodes Memorial, painfully slow. If I sit the knees hurt, if I stand the ex-broken shoulder hurts. Good excuse for bigger cogs at the back!
