Yes ... this is how i reassure myself. Although I did squeel like a child when one of those red grasshoppers jumped up into my face today.

 

 

Better than one of your cape flats tjoms flashing a stolen 9mm in your face announcing that he needs your mtb more than you want it

I think it is a Selby "Cobra".  Very rare and they do have a bite.

My mother always said if I play with fire I would wet my bed.  That never happened but I think if I am so close to those buggers I would wet my pants right there and then.  No need to wait for bed time.  :eek:

Rode over a snake on my MTB this morning :-(

 

On a tarmac descent between trails, off-camber corner and only saw it at the last second. Don't think I even bunny-hopped it. (not sure - I was in "shitting-myself" mode at the time).

 

Stopped and watched him slide off into the bush and he didn't look injured, but I can't imagine 95kg of man & bike did the little guy much good.

I've ridden over a little night adder and once over a natal bush snake

They both seemed fine.
