What to do when you feel the need for some trails ..... and want to get in some distance .....

 

Got the Blue Beast out for some FUN time. 

 

Got going at sunrise, in the hope to beat the heat and the wind .... chasing the early morning shadows.

 

Had a lekka chat with Patrick's pets ....

 

Just a short loop, then over the road and up and up and up ....

 

Thanks for the nice climb M.V.  Trust you enjoyed the rest of your ride. 

 

Last section to the Conties mast has been smoothed out .....

 

 

Now WHY exactly did I push my heart rate into the red trying to keep up with these roadies ....  Stayed with them for about 5km, but man that was some hard work on the Blue Beast !!   

 

 

First 50km done, time for some coffeeee .... ooops, very early starts means Philadelphia is still asleep by 8:00 .... De Malle Meul was kind enough to start up the brew. 

 

Leaving Philladelphia the wind had picked up .... and not long after the temperature was touching 30 degrees ....  Did not stop me from adding in a few extra loops ... such awesome views out there !!  And some more of Patrick's pets.

No pics from the ride itself (Pinelands, Hout Bay, Suikerbossie, Camps Bay, loop) but I did get to "test" my tubeless sealant.

Apparently it works after about 15 seconds ????

Ha ha!  Bad luck.  I also got necklaced last week, twice in fact.  Outcome was exactly the same ????

I may have started riding again...



and found a gaggle of geese having a bit of a lie down, only to semi disturb them.



... albeit only a 2km loop to stretch the ligaments in the ankle. 

What have I learnt so far? I am still a long way off from riding trail as I can put no pressure on the offending ankle yet apart from maintaining rotation on the crank.

But at least I'm out there now. Today I am avoiding the wind but tomorrow I'll be back on it again.

NSBB and i at the start of ride joburg’s 94.7. Absolute pleasure mate???? Road closures for the win . Still lots of bad crashes though . Hope all are ok .

We were at little confused by the neutral zone . Our group was stretched out so quickly ,like very quickly, we found ourselves at the back ????
