I had my first real ride on an Ebike, a Levo, at VG yesterday...

I rode trails I'm pretty used to and know quite well..

It was incredible!

NOTHING, was easy... everything was just FAST! FLIPPEN FAST!!

Naysayers... pffffft... I roll my eyes at you, tell me why these shouldn't be allowed?

If you don't like it.. don't ride it.

I took a bit of strain through the really technical sections where I'm used to being able to throw my Fattie around a bit more (being almost 10kgs lighter), but other than that it was hardly any different to riding my regular bike. (except for the turbo of course)

I rode what i'd usually ride in around 3 hours in under 2 and half with a HR equal to that of my last 3 rides on the same trails.

The concrete road at VG is never easy, it wasn't easy either yesterday, but I maxed my HR flying up.

Big loop with D: Home, Rhodes Mem, below Kirstenbosch, Cecelia, Constantia neck, over Kirstenbosch, Rhodes Mem, home.

That beautiful bit through Kirstenbosch gave us a real cobra encounter of the way-too-close a kind when a BIG one crossed the road between us and both myself and an oncoming rider very nearly rode over it. Luckily it stood up and made its hood in the other guys direction, so he crapped himself a bit worse than I did. D missed the whole thing because he was racing his old man, rather than to look around for roses to smell......

Recce for an upcoming race, the Great Kei Trek.

Windmills Roads roads krantzes and a beer or more. I was planning on riding a bit more but my watch died, and as we all know, if it's not on Strava it didn't happen. So I had another beer instead and phoned for a lift
