To work again - stopped to buy the boss D some flowers on the way home - I wasn't really naughty, but I have to plead guilty to buying another frame on Monday!

Morning ride at Meerendal.

Up and over, down Mine shaft.  For the first time I took the extra dip after mineshaft .... get the feeling it may feel better if done ever so slightly faster, better "flow" than the super slow ride while checking out the section for the first time.  That little climb at the end is well worth it, will certainly do this again.

Over the hill, then Stairway-to-heaven, went granny and sat up sipping water and actually got my heart rate down a bit climbing Stairway.  :whistling:  :w00t:

Kept going and did the Dorstberg cheat loop as well ..... okay, and this is where the bag of excuses can be used to explain why I redlined up that little climb .... but who cares ?  I got all the way up there, the complete ride from the car park, without stopping once !  :cursing:    Had to take a few minutes to catch my breath .... placed my bike against the pole, and walked it off while I tried to get my heart rate down .....  Next moment I see a SNAKE, actually I HEARD it barking orders from way up ... NO, not the harmless Cape Cobra, that dreaded "racing snake" .... Apparently my bike standing against the pole (more than 1m from the track) was too much of a hindrance to his Strava run ....  He came down at such a pace that he made a clean ramp over the road going up !!    He was three switchbacks down and I could still hear him cursing at me for standing next to the track ..... GET A LIFE !

Time to complete the cheat run, and on to Burry Stander.  SO nice to do this when you get the flow right ...    Back up, and over the koppie, parallel to Stairway, and around to the pump track.  Did a loop of the pump track and realised I was slightly cornered .... parkrun had started, first runners were coming through ..... There were nice gaps between the first runners, so I slotted into one of these gaps, and climbed again (staying WELL clear of any runners!).  Did the second section of Burry again, then the fun section at the end ... MAN, it IS fun when you hit the sweet spot with that fun run at the end !

Nice 15km ride.   I had finished my post ride coffee by the time the wind picked ...

Always interesting when you do these solo rides on the farms .... even though you are "solo", you do see others on the trail, and are actually never really alone.  And every cyclist (racing snake excluded) was well behaved, and everybody had a great time out.

Disclaimer - I HAVE actually met racing snakes that ARE nice people !!  So if these fine riders want to attribute a different term to this Strava junkie, go for it ....

A few of us did a 400km MTB ride on Friday night through to Saturday afternoon. It was "rather interesting" and was a massive challenge. Worst of all were the corrugated and sandy sections. The wind was also hectic.

Started in Pretoria > Bronkies > Loskop > Groblersdal > Rust De Winter > Bela Bela...

took us 16hrs at 25kmph moving average. Just under 19 hours total.

Everything is rather eina at the moment ;-) and no I couldn't do the last 1.46kms to make it a round 400km ;-)
