So I bought kit from forthelove (Gary Smith) on bike hub.

Paid the full price as advertised and included the cost he suggested for the shipping.

Mr Smith couldn’t wait for funds to reflect even after I sent multiple proof of payments.

Initially I was accused of committing fraud and said seller contacted Bikehub to report me without having the decency to communicate these falls accusations to me.

Instead he contacted bikehub and lied to me that he received my details and ip address and location and reported me to SAPS, even gave me the case number.

Then stops replying and leaves me to phone around to the police, lawyers and communicate with bikehub to piece things together.

So the funds then reflect and he apologizes and sends the items.

In the box accompanied with the items is a letter from the seller, first that the helmet was never crashed and then that he repaired something and the items are sold as is, then apology for the payment altercation.

Needless to say the items are VERY FAR from the stated condition. I have included photo’s.

He does not reply and I see he read my messages on WhatsApp.

I see he does not have anything for sale right now. But beware of his antics.

These people that take advantage of bikehub and fellow cyclist need to be named and shamed.

When buying from someone without a pretty extensive record and  positive trader ratings, always inspect the goods yourself before deciding whether you want to spend your hard earned money or not. If that means missing out on bargains because they are from elsewhere in the country, then so be it.

What a muppet...He kicks off over over R1200 odd? (if  I read this right?) because he can\t wait for funds to clear? But still has the items in his possession?

Stirs up unnecessary problems with the the fuzz and lawyers?

Then sends you that crap?

If you have all that proof then I think admin should kick this guy off the forum as well.

Agreed but it seems this idiot (seller) still had the goods so why open a case etc?

Its not like he posted the stuff and then had payment issues...

Dear Throttle

WTH respect let’s go through this together and keep it to the facts. You assured me payment was done instantly and must keep the goods for you. You said you would do a instant payment form same bank to same bank. The proof sent to me of payments were not recognized by the bank as legitimate a day later and dither proof two days later. It possible your intention at that time was not to pay me right away I don’t know. I then alerted you to the fact and then on the third day payment was received. I apologies for the bank not recognizing your proof of payment but the fact remains they never seen this type of proof ... The goods are in good condition, before they were packed they were also photographed. Further more I confirmed our discussion and noted the goods are sold as is in the letter with one pictures of the packed goods. There be no further comment and wish you happy riding.

Where does this chop stay?

Ridiculous to say the least.

No one photographs items before sending them and if they're in as new condition, add clauses that they are sold as is.

He's dodgy and should refund, I'm sure if these items are indeed in great condition he'd find a new buyer easy.

Good condition, you did see the photo's right? Show us your photo's of these areas as shown by the OP then please because no bad packaging can cause that sort of damage.

Just accept you erred buddy

There is no way transport causes the damage shown in those photos. Your advertised photos are taken at very different angles to not show damage. That alone makes me think you are at the least dishonest. Do the right thing and take your stuff back and refund the guy then advertise it honestly.

Funny how there is no mention of going to the cops etc, etc.
