At what time did you do the ride with your daughter ?

LOTS of families out on the trails this morning.

I was following a mom and her 10-year old daughter. Then noticed a mom and dad, with two kids on small bikes, and the little one on a seat behind dad. This train did B Spot

Just before 10 and for a short hour ;)

A long ass day out but loved every minute!

Not sure what goes through other riders minds when you're out for long but today started off thinking about some stuff, progressed to fighting with myself and then ignored myself for the last part ...9791ea87b3f371c237bc65b0601f4950.jpg66b7fe6128c7c9c17d1b041a8bd8c709.jpg

After a week of intense work, and no riding, not even indoors, I eveeeeentually got my butt off the couch and onto the bike.

Now, as punishment for being so slapgat, it was decided that Kings Kloof was the venue of choice.

It was nice and not too warm, and a really nice day in the hoëveld.

A spot of climbing ( and pushing in my case) was done.

Used this shady tree to get my HR back to reasonable parameters

Hopefully this was the kick in the butt I needed to get back into regular training.

Send us pics from the top of Alpe du Zwift ;)

When I broke my forearm I was back on zwift 1 week after the op, didn't lose any cyclist fitness from that injury thanks to the IDT. You'll be back in no time !

Hehehe

I’m such a lover of the sport

The days before surgery I did 300 kms or something in two days. FOMO ????

As Swissvan reported that the weather was not optimal actually on Saturday in the Alps.  We have had some lovely spring weather during the week last week and although the temps were to drop over the weekend but still with some sunshine predicted for Saturday afternoon with a max of 7 degrees I decided to do my first long ride for the year.

Turns out the sun was just teasing us along the way with some guest appearances by only lighting up some of the tips of the mountains from time to time and the majority of the ride was in max 4 degrees with an hour period only being at 1  degree.  I was slightly under dressed wrt to feet and hands.

This picture was taken by my riding buddy just before the end of hour ride.  I had spoke that was getting a tad loose and while I stopped to check it out he took this pic.  All and all a nice ride but fairly cold.  Had to laugh at my wife as she said to me when I got home "Take a quick shower as dinner is almost ready".  No chance of just sticking these cold feet in hot water.  Took about 15 minutes to warm them up bit by bit.

Love being back on the bike.  Its been a rollercoaster the last year of lockdown, and stolen bike and company troubles.

got a bargain on a Cannondale SuperSix October last year.  And the first couple rides were horrible.  I was overweight and damn unfit.  The vettie in the white and brown is me.

Mid-January, I changed my diet, started turbo HIIT sessions at night and pushing the km's over weekend.  Dropped the kg's and got fitter.  Still a-ways to but it feels amazing.

On Saturday, I tackled Devonvale and Helshoogte.  It  was amazing.  Good to be back

were you with the dynamix/powerbar and cyclopaths guys that went all the way to blackhill and back ? Must have been a tough one in that heat. We did kloofnek together and I was already sweating a lot :D

No, peninsula and surrounds would be our normal routes but on Sunday we went out to Durbanville, Fisantekraal and beyond instead.

Still trying to figure out why we'd trade the roads and views of the southern peninsula for that ! LOL
