geomark Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 I've been slowly ramping up my distance, and I found this quite challenging. I'm most definitely still a beginner. It was quite warm already - we got there a bit later than planned. The descents were quite technical and full of loose rocks / gavel and quite a few spots had rocks that stuck out that were quite sharp and required some good maneuvering. I came off once at a low speed. The front washed out as I wanted to turn and power up a hill. You can get up to 32km I think if you do another little section which seemed super technical, so I avoided that one. I enjoyed it. Would do it earlier in the morning before the sun gets crazy, and perhaps I could do a better time. Cool thanks for the details, any security concerns?

Darko Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Cool thanks for the details, any security concerns? None that I could see. It's R50 to enter as either a hiker or mtb. It's quite popular with hikers. Almost didn't have anywhere to park! I think the scariest part other than the descent on the 'snake' route, was coming face to face with a cow on a blind bend. geomark 1
