Such bullish!t - targeting trails while people are getting bike jacked

Soft target policing is now the norm

Nail on the head, soft target policing is so easy to do.

The cops get to go on their little power trip and refuse to listen to reason.

I was at Jonkers yesterday....

Groups of 10 to 15 guys consistently coming and going on bikes and on foot.

While it comes across as a nonsense rule, groups of 4 or less is definitely not being adhered to anywhere.

So, while it is a soft target, it is something they can police so will do so. Whether it is what they should be policing is another question.

It really wouldn't surprise me if more trail centres aren't shut down while large groups are coming and going willy nilly

From what I heard him say on the video doing the rounds it was because they said he was running an EVENT with more than 50 people including staff ... despite him explaining how the trails and coffee shop actually operate.

Groups of riders in this case was not the problem? Although we as cyclists ourselves live to castigate them at every opportunity, that's the impression I get anyway.

At the very least the Police should've gone and seen for themselves how the set up works and not just come to a conclusion based on the amount of cars in the parking lot..

I agree with the general sentiment, however having a SAPS member interpretating anything will only result in disaster.

During these times of over zealous application of the law everyone with something to loose - read: formal sector, criminal-record-free individual, etc, will do well to fly under the radar.

In the absence of true mass protest/non-compliance the government will divide and rule.

I also mention mass protest/non-compliance very tentatively, this is likely to be a rabbit hole with a no-return sign written all over it. Yet in the back of my mind I am acutely aware of the slowly boiling frog anology.

This incident is the precise reason SA is doomed to fail.

Business owner doing all he can against all odds to keep a business afloat and employ people.

Govt doing all they can to stamp on people and bully their racist narrative and kill all. White businesses even at the expense of the so called disadvantaged.

The hatred in their hearts has infected their heads.

Utter BS this country is F$&@up rules only apply to people who don’t break them. Taxi filled to capacity, casinos open, but visiting your own family is a crime.

Spread out on trails of over 30km FFS is that not better than 15people confined to a taxi. Yea try explaining to the POPO is a useless case. Have seen friends and families lost everything they built up for 20yrs in just 4months.

Take SAPS to court. Then claim for lost revenue.

* instead of harping on about whomever 'ratted him out'.
