Please explain why?

Was it this maybe?

Said Malema: “I hear some people will be allowed to walk dogs; just don't try us, please. We support the government’s intervention, but rubbish won't be tolerated,” tweeted the leader of the red berets.

According to them they realised its a risk after seeing the social media reactions.

Like your work more and more mr bmx man!!

hahahahaha reading so many comments about 'I MUST JOG' etc from all those packed tidily away in their homes with a bed, a couch, a fridge full of food and wifi....

One thing this has highlighted is how the privileged like to play the victim, assume their needs above others and will justify ways to bend the rules to suit their narrative.

You don't NEED to jog or cycle outside. Please. Just follow the guidelines and stop whining like spoiled brats.

My nanny is pregnant. She shares a converted garage with 5 other people. She is due in 8 days so it could happen any day during lockdown. I cannot fetch her and due to the virus she may be without transport to the hospital and without proper care at the hospital. I am not allowed to assist. I have asked.

So many stories like this where survival is the goal, not whether you can stay fit enough to run comrades after all this.

Perspective is a crazy sobering thing. Watching the wealthy whine is getting tiresome.

(Says the privileged guy whining about people whining)....

Flame suit on.

If I want to go ride by myself with no one else within 2m of me it really should be my own choice. And no I wont be doing anything stupid like going and riding the most technical trails around so the risk of me falling are 0.000001%. It would be on sand roads/single tracks so there is an extremely small chance I will get hit by a car. So chances of me needing a hospital bed are probably the same as me losing my mind and slitting my wrists after 3 weeks.... (joke ppl).... just in case

This is all blown out of proportion. The numbers are completely skewed because not every one with a snotty nose is being tested. We cannot realistically know that the death rate is as high as stipulated without checking everybody getting a test done.

Yes there is a risk but it is to the elderly. Lock down the ppl who are 60+ and let the rest of us get on with it. The majority of people getting critically sick and dying are people over 60. We can all take the old folks their shopping and whatever they need and leave it on their doorsteps, ring the bell and walk away. This should also not overwhelm the health services because the majority of younger people getting sick will either be asymptomatic or have a mild infection.

That way we still have a workforce in place to keep the economy ticking over as well as allowing the virus to spread which would help in building up herd immunity.

This thing isnt going to go away because we all locked down for 21 days. Whats the plan after 21 days? We going to lock out the rest of the world that still has COVID-19? If there is no vaccine and no immunity this is just going to keep coming back.

Fire away people....

You know, I miss the days of powerbalance bracelets, at least you could spot the idiots a mile away without having to interact with them...

TEST RIDE Club 100 Cradle ride Saturday 28th on RGTCycling (www.rgtcycling.com) which is free to use during COVID19 (an alternative to ZWIFT).  Ride start 7:00am.  You need to be on a smart trainer to participate (Virtual power from a speed and cadence sensor does not work).  Ride the virtual cradle from Broadacres, for an hour, or out to the caves, or all the way back via Avianto and Carnivore (Need at least 5 riders for a group ride, else the software will not start the group ride). Signup link

If it asks for a code 7454

Disclaimer:  We have not had the chance to use the software for a group ride on what RTG call a "Magic Road" where you send them a GPX file which they convert.  We are hoping it works and will become a regular Saturday ride during lockdown, hence why is a bit of a TEST RIDE.

ALL WELCOME, especially those testing out their recently bought new smart trainers  :D

EDIT: Signup link updated as previous stopped working

According to GCN Rouvy is also free during this time. I've note seen any evidence of this apart from GCN but it's worth a shot. There's also a 14 day free evaluation anyway so you can do a little free virtual riding for the next 2 weeks.

There's a challenge called Ride for Italy where you have till the 31st to ride 4 fairly challenging routes in Northern Italy in support of the Veneto region in Italy.

Each completed challenge, Rouvy donates 1 Euro to the region.

Haha.

I did Valparola last night. I promised myself I'd take it easy but when the first oke came past me all that went out the window and I started looking for people I could pick off.

“You know you live in a country that had apartheid where the 90% are wondering how they will survive both poverty in a recession and the broken, unequal health care system in the face of a global pandemic, and the 10% are petulantly demanding the right to go jogging” - Chester Missing

There's a man who I admired who has drunk his own kool aid. Disappointing.

But he's not saying anything untrue. What he is saying is just swimming along a different path to the national rhetoric. We're all going to follow our diets anyway and exercise at home.

We should never allow herd mentality to stop your intellect from questioning everything

Registered businesses will be able to claim via SARS and/or UIF. As well as SBDFC, iirc

Check the IDC website as well for directives that have been issued in terms of claims for costs during lockdown

So I am wondering if I could cycle to work during the Lockdown? It has been so busy by our company 7 days a week during the last 2 weeks and I have had no time to get onto the bike. Yesterday late afternoon I saw many guys on MTB's riding and will probably see the same today as they try to get those few last km's in before being confined to their homes.

But back to my question, since I have a permit to get to work and back which is about 22km's one way. I used to cycle it often about 10 years ago but nowadays the traffic and risks are too much and I rather drive. With the Lockdown traffic could be so little that a cycle to work and back home could be a real option again. That would be really awesome!

I don’t see why not and you’d be saving money and contributing to cleaner air.
